Several posters featuring Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar cropped up in Bengaluru on Tuesday, accusing the latter of exploiting the videos and images of women in the videos related to the alleged sex abuse scandal involving Janata Dal (Secular) MP Prajwal Revanna.
The posters accusing Shivakumar of exploiting the women for political gains came up after JD(S) workers staged a protest in front of his residence following BJP leader and lawyer G Devarajegowda’s press meet on the issue where he said the probe was politically motivated.
Devarajegowda had alleged on Monday that the special investigation team’s probe into the sexual abuse allegations against Revanna was “politically influenced”. “The Congress government is trying to fix me. The victims were being fed money to appear before the investigating officials. The videos in circulation are morphed,” he alleged.
Following Devarajegowda’s media interaction, Shivakumar had denied the allegations, terming it a “bundle of lies”. “…I will come to Bengaluru and give detailed information. The BJP and JD(S) are conspiring against me. People know what Devarajegowda has spoken before the media in the past,” he said.
Revanna has been accused of sexually assaulting and filming hundreds of women over several years. A case was registered against him in Karnataka last month after pen drives with over 2,900 files went viral in Hassan.
